A massive wave of multi-hour ride outages hit Walt Disney World this week, peaking on Wednesday evening when several headliner attractions went dark for hours at a time. Across the parks, our trackers recorded unusually long stretches of unplanned downtime on major family-favorite coasters, boat rides, and thrill attractions.

At the same time, the parks quietly ushered in the fall season, dropping dozens of pumpkin-spiced menu items and executing minor price increases at quick-service beverage locations. Here is a look at what our trackers measured between August 25 and August 29, 2026.

Headliner Attractions Face Massive Downtime

Wednesday, August 26, proved to be an incredibly tough day to catch some of Walt Disney World's most popular rides. In Magic Kingdom Park, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (which averages a 41-minute standby wait) suffered a massive 336-minute outage starting Wednesday afternoon and lasting late into the evening. Nearby in Frontierland, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (29-minute typical wait) went down for 294 minutes during the same afternoon and evening block.

To make matters worse for Magic Kingdom guests that night, Jungle Cruise (25-minute typical wait) also experienced a 292-minute outage on Wednesday evening, followed by another 313-minute closure on Friday, August 28.

Other parks were not spared from the Wednesday evening slump. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, Slinky Dog Dash (60-minute typical wait) went offline for 232 minutes on Wednesday night and did not reopen before the park closed. The high-profile coaster suffered another 268-minute outage on Friday evening and a 135-minute outage on Saturday afternoon.

Over at EPCOT, Test Track (64-minute typical wait) has been plagued by consecutive days of heavy downtime:

  • Wednesday evening: Down for 228 minutes, closing early for the night.
  • Thursday afternoon: Down for 131 minutes, followed shortly by a 278-minute outage later that night.
  • Friday evening: Down for 249 minutes.

Finally, in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Kali River Rapids (32-minute typical wait) went down for 244 minutes on Wednesday afternoon. If you see wait times rising rapidly or notice your favorite headliner is temporarily offline, keep a close eye on the live board and have a backup plan ready to dodge these multi-hour bottlenecks.

Pumpkin Spice Arrives Alongside Price Creep

Fall officially landed in the parks on Tuesday, August 25, as Starbucks locations across Walt Disney World refreshed their seasonal menus. The update brought back the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, and the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, along with new items like the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte and a Hedgehog Cake Pop.

We tracked these additions at Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom, Creature Comforts in Animal Kingdom, Connections Café in EPCOT, The Trolley Car Café in Hollywood Studios, and both Starbucks locations at Disney Springs. However, the season came with a minor price increase: the Grande Iced Banana Bread Matcha Tea Latte rose from $6.75 to $6.95 at most of these locations.

In EPCOT, the ongoing food festival saw some movement at The Odyssey, which added 16 items and removed 7 on Friday, August 28. Additions included fall-inspired drinks like the Ciderboys Pumpkin Spice Hard Cider, Bold Rock Apple Crumble Hard Cider, and 3 Daughters Brewing Peanut Butter Blondie Blonde Ale, alongside snacks like Buffalo-Dill Pickles. You can check out our coverage of the complete festival offerings in our EPCOT Food & Wine Festival menu guide.

Resort and Disney Springs Menu Updates

Beyond the parks, breakfast lovers visiting Disney Springs have a new destination. On Tuesday, August 25, Chicken Guy! introduced 17 new items to launch a breakfast lineup. New additions include a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich, Breakfast Bowl, Breakfast Tots, Breakfast Wrap, and Chicken & Waffles. Concurrently, the price of Fountain Beverages at the location rose from $3.49 to $3.99.

Other notable dining shifts this week include:

  • Connections Eatery (EPCOT): Added 9 allergy-friendly versions of the BBQ Braai Chicken Pizza and Caramel-Apple Cheesecake Baumkuchen on Thursday, August 27.
  • Contempo Café (Disney's Contemporary Resort): Added an Apple Danish and Seasonal Cheesecake on Friday, August 28.
  • California Grill (Disney's Contemporary Resort): Added Cioppino and a Seared Lamb Rack on Wednesday, August 26, while removing 5 older items.
  • Le Cellier Steakhouse (EPCOT): Swapped out its steak options on Friday, August 28, adding a 12-oz Prime New York Strip Steak and removing 4 other items.
